Camp should not be seen as simply sending your child on a vacation.  Camp, when done correctly, is truly an educational experience and one that helps mold your child’s future; it's just disguised as fun!

Parents are sometimes hesitant about sending their children away to camp.  No doubt, the decision should be one of great consideration and importance.  We recommend parents take the time to plan and search for a program that compliments their style for raising children.  Interview the camp director and be certain that you feel comfortable in that person’s ability to take care of your child. Ask questions and never feel that the one individual who supervises the staff that watches over your child is out of your reach.

Camp is a wonderful way to reinforce the goals, philosophies and ambitions you have for your children.  

Camp Pocono Ridge is a safe haven for children.  We secure our facility for all ages focusing on every aspect; physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.

We are childcare professionals with more than 50 years of camp history and experience.  We pride ourselves not only as camp counselors but as child-development specialists.

Camp Pocono Ridge does not merely sit with children, we engage, supervise and guide our children as they grow through life and the social opportunities and experiences available in our summer camp setting.  A kickball game, to some, may simply be a childhood game, but at Camp Pocono Ridge it is an opportunity to practice sportsmanship, create friendships and unify a team.

Camp Pocono Ridge believes in honoring the individual.  Campers are nurtured as our own children. They are never treated or feel as a number.  We take the time to get to know each child, where he comes from and what she likes to do. We seek to know all that is required to help a child succeed in camp, and become a part of our camp family.

We believe in fun and friendship while promoting opportunities for self-discovery. We provide the means, opportunity, support and motivation to enable a child to discover his or her own talents and safely participate in a variety of sports, arts and adventure programs within a single location.

We teach strong sports technique, creativity in the arts and a variety of well developed activity programs, but we also teach for the whole child.  Our teaching philosophies use techniques based in honor of oneself, honor of another, respect of the individual and the community. We teach kindness through example, pride in achievement and self-awareness by addressing manners, use of language and common courtesy. We ask for our children to choose the same.

Camp Pocono Ridge’s philosophies are based within traditional family values. We intentionally create opportunities to teach and practice those values; allowing children to find pride in themselves, pride in each other and pride in their community.  Campers return home from CPR as stronger, independent, well-rounded, responsible, and confident individuals, who feel secure as members of our camp family.
