Camp Pocono Ridge is so much FUN, the kids are terrific and the lifestyle unlike any other that you can barely call working at Camp Pocono Ridge work. But as phrase goes, it is the toughest job you'll ever love.

Applicants must know that we are very particular in who we choose to work with our campers.  Our campers deserve the very best, the most dedicated and the most caring staff.  Applicants must be willing to give unconditionally of themselves, put the needs of the camper before their own, and realize that camp is for the camper (although we, the staff, believe there is a camper's spirit in all of us).

Camp Pocono Ridge staff work with the best, each individual is hired for a particular skill, essence or experience. We believe that each person becomes a piece of our very unique tapestry and that being a T.E.A.M., works not in theory or name but with intention.

Camp Pocono Ridge, just like our campers, definitely get out what they put into camp, so we cannot make any guarantees other than these.... You will always have someone there to help you be the best you can be, you will always have training, support and input for jobs well done or direction when things fall short, and you will most definitely leave camp with a sense of accomplishment, a sense of purpose and a sense of friendship that will carry you through the rest of your life.

How to Apply: 

Camp Pocono Ridge offers two types of staff positions:

Camp Counselors are required to live at camp, among campers.  They must be 20+ years of age, like kids and enjoy working with, teaching and living among children.  We look for compassionate, kind, caring and fun-loving individuals to work with our kids.

Camp Support Staff must be 16+, hard-working, flexible with previous experience preferred. These applicants do not live on camp but must be willing to work nights, and weekends as necessary.

Applications are accepted from January – May
by emailing a request for application to poconoridge@aol.com, put Staff App in the subject line.

Upon receipt of an application, individuals will receive a confirmation email.  Applications will be reviewed between March – May, if requested, an interview will be scheduled.  Once accepted, a follow-up series of forms, including an employment contract, background authorization, etc...will be forwarded to you. When signed and returned within the given time frame your application and contract will be considered complete.

Former and returning campers may apply, however first option will be given to those who have remained committed to Camp Pocono Ridge and not taken a “summer off.”  Junior Counselor applicants should contact the winter office as a spring orientation will be required due to school conflicts.

Staff specialty training and certification, as required, is June 15, 2008.  All senior counselor staff persons are to arrive no later than June 22, 2008 for staff orientation.  Please be sure to check with the camp director for your required date of arrival.  Late arrivals need not apply.
