Camp Pocono Ridge honors tradition while understanding the dynamics of today’s society.

We still host morning wake-up calls and raise the American flag, but we also, host International Days to honor, understand and celebrate the world around us, and those who come to us from far away.

We still believe in the character building exercise of making one’s own bed, and folding one’s own clothes, of sweeping a floor during bunk clean-up, and daily bunk inspections, but we also employ a housekeeping staff to deep clean as necessary.

We believe in taking turns, and giving of oneself, but we also believe honoring thy self means limiting overt public displays of affection (PDA's), honoring the English language and setting forth the best concept of oneself toward others.

We believe there are times for both competitive and non-competitive activities. We enjoy the competition of a terrific Apache Relay, yet we continually remind our children that he who you fight against today, is still your brother and friend tomorrow.

We believe in sharing ideas and becoming part of a team, but we also believe that each person is a unique individual, having different needs, strengths and talents.  Camp Pocono Ridge is an environment safe enough to celebrate those qualities and feel good about oneself.

We believe that people should earn respect and leadership positions.  Leaders become leaders by setting a good example for others to follow, and being the one others look up to not out of popularity or when the camp director is watching, but quietly when no one is looking but everyone sees.

We believe that the English language is far too wonderful to limit it to four letter words, or scream Shut-up at the top of your lungs to get attention, we therefore encourage those at CPR to expand their vocabulary in positive ways, as they would their individual accomplishments.

Camp Pocono Ridge is a place set in traditions, not suspended in time. It comes with all the fond memories parents as children remember about camp, but as a politically correct environment parents expect for today's child.

And finally, we honor our extended family by allowing them to peek into our world and view daily uploaded photos/video so that those we love may better understand, enjoy and become a part of our world, as it happens.

Camp Pocono Ridge is a beautiful blend of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
