Camp Pocono Ridge makes changes to clothing supplier.

Camp Pocono Ridge is pleased to announce a new clothing supplier which will decrease costs our camp families by approximately 30% on most items.

In order to bring the best savings and customer service to our camp families, we'll need to assume the sales & distribution of our camp clothing.  All clothing purchases made pre-camp will be picked-up upon arrival to camp, which will also save parents shipping fees.  Therefore, when a child arrives we will review their clothing order with them, check for correct fit & size and permanently mark each item.

We believe that this new approach to camp clothing will be a benefit to our camp families by decreasing prices, increasing customer service and providing overall satisfaction.  Look for our entire new clothing line at our new online camp store: Marty's Trading Post, coming soon.

Camp Pocono Ridge announces MY FORUM a place where campers, parents and staff can open discussions about camp, news and info about CPR.

CPR looks forward to 2008
As we start to see images of spring, flowers blooming, warmer temperatures, we can't help but get excited about the coming camp season.  This excitement is heighten by our recent return from the Tri-state ACA conferences in Atlantic City, no there wasn't time for gambling.

Shellie, Suzie and Brooks all attended, each taking in a variety of educational seminars each day.  Much was learned for our new attendees, but even Shellie, a 16 year veteran to the convention, learned some exciting new techniques, and got some terrific ideas for staff training, camp supplies and administration.   All this new stuff will most definitely be a positive impact for camp, her outcomes and our campers.

CAMP POCONO RIDGE
Earns ACA-Accredited
Camp Status

Dimock, PA - The American Camp Association® (ACA) announced today that CAMP POCONO RIDGE has received ACA-Accredited® Camp status for 2008.

"ACA Accreditation means that CAMP POCONO RIDGE submitted to a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation by the American Camp Association (ACA) — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management — and complied with the highest standards in the industry," said Cindy Moore, National Standards Commission.

"Parents expect their children to attend accredited schools. They also deserve a camp experience that is reviewed and accredited by an expert, independent organization," Moore said.

“CAMP POCONO RIDGE and ACA form a partnership that promotes summers of growth and fun in an environment committed to safety," said Shellie Santay, Owner/Director, "ACA accreditation demonstrates our commitment to quality camp programming."

CAMP POCONO RIDGE was founded in 1958 and is located in Dimock, PA. The camp is in operation from June to August and offers sessions lasting from 2 weeks to 8 weeks.  For more information, parents can contact the camp at their winter office in Monroe Township, NJ at 732-521-4796, or visit the camp's Web site at www.poconoridge.com

ACA is the only independent accrediting organization reviewing camp operations in the country. Its nationally-recognized standards program focuses primarily on the program quality, health and safety aspects of a camp's operation. ACA collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at the camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. For more parent-focused information about accreditation, visit ACA's www.CampParents.org.
