Cultural Exchange

For more than 20 years, Camp Pocono Ridge has enjoyed welcoming International campers from France, Spain, Switzerland, UK, China, Japan, Russia, etc... and for these campers, we provide complimentary ESL electives 2, 3 or 5 days per week. International campers make about 10% of our entire population during any given session as it has been our experience that parents prefer the opportunity for their children to utilize the English language, within the American culture, as much as possible during their stay.  We welcome campers who travel together, but encourage friends to speak only English so as to best achieve their intended goal.

Annual activities at Camp Pocono Ridge include International Days, where children and staff from around the globe have an opportunity to share native songs, dances or stories. Our kitchen staff adds to the mix by including special meals, and our annual Olympics is a fun way to provide physical fitness events while celebrating the countries of the world that makes up the tapestry that is Camp Pocono Ridge.

The International flare of Camp Pocono Ridge remains a wonderful asset to our program and helps to bring cultures together, gain understanding of lands far and wide, and make the world we live in seem that much smaller.
